PTA MEETING Thank you to all who joined us for the May PTA Meeting this week! If you were unable to attend please review the minutes at http://www.amermanpta.com/pta-meeting-minutes.html Please note at the May 8th meeting we proposed an amendment to the bylaws to add a third Vice President on the PTA board. We will vote on this, and vote in the new board on Thursday, May 23rd at 9:00am. Mark your calendars for a quick 15-20 minute voting meeting. Mark your calendars for Thursday June 6, 9:00-10:00 a.m. for a Bobcat Bash wrap-up meeting! AMERMAN BOBCAT BASH! Amerman Bobcat Bash, formerly known as Ice Cream Social, will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 5:00 pm. This celebration is Amerman's biggest event of the year and we need your help! Please contact Rabecca Plenchette if you are interested in volunteering or becoming a sponsor for this event at [email protected] or login in to amerman.memberhub.com to view volunteer opportunities. BONAVENTURE ROLLER SKATING NIGHT The last roller skating party of the school year will be May 14. This is the LAST roller skating party for our 5th graders and our chance to celebrate with them. ALL proceeds from this event will be donated to the Amerman PTA! For our last Roller Skating event, on behalf of the 5th Grade Students your $8.50/wristband will include 1 hour at Bonaventure’s NEW indoor playscape. To help with overflow and safety in the playscape area, we will divide the times as follows:
AMERMAN SPRING CLEAN UP BIG Thank you to all of our Amerman families that assisted with the Spring Clean Up and special SHOUT OUT to Julie Yakupova for organizing and the Boy Scouts Club! You did an amazing job sprucing up Amerman!! BACKPACK BUDDY RECALL For anyone who received a backpack buddy as a thank you gift for contributing to Invest in your Child, the replacement bags have arrived and are of GREAT quality! Keep an eye out for email instructions about how replacement bags will be distributed next week. Thank you for your patience, and many thanks to Tanya Edwards for her tenacity in making sure we provide you with the high quality product that we promised! BOBCAT BASH WRISTBANDS Bobcat Bash Wristbands are $20 now, $25 on the day of the event. Kids 4 and under are free! You can order your Bobcat Bash Wristbands by going to amerman.memberhub.store. STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS Bobcat Bash, formerly known as Ice Cream Social, is need of a silent auction co-coordinator for 2020 (next year). This is a fun way to get involved in our biggest event of the year! Please contact Julie Malloure at [email protected] if interested or with questions. We are not organizing days for families to send in flowers, treats, etc., but, if you would like to send something, families are welcome to send in any tokens of appreciation that they wish! TERRACYCLE and COLORCYCLE Colorcycle – save spent markers of any brand and submit for recycling (collection bin in the office) Terracycle – check out opportunities to recycle items (such as oral care items and chip bags) at Amerman that are not recyclable curbside and earn funds for the school You can find more information about these programs at www.amermanpta.com/programs.html ORDER EDUKITS FOR CLASSROOM SUPPLIES FOR 2019/20 SCHOOL YEAR Edukits include supplies approved by the school. This is one of the great opportunities to volunteer for the year. This is the BOGO event. These are the Dates we are looking at for the book fair; 6/10 to 6/12, 3:45-4:45. Birthday CelebrationsBirthday Cafe
Is your child's birthday coming up? Celebrate the occasion with a lunch date at school! This program is by reservation only and is completely voluntary. Families are invited to bring in a special lunch and/or treat to enjoy with their student at the birthday table in the cafeteria (aka Birthday Café) during their usual lunch period. Booking requests are preferred at least one week prior to your desired lunch date. The sooner you request, the more likely you are to get your preferred date! Thanks for your support of the Amerman PTA!! iChat FormThe Northville Public School District requires that a background check via the Internet Criminal History Access Tool (iChat) with the Michigan State Police be conducted for individuals who school officials reasonably expect may have regular and continuous contact with students, or may at times be with students absent the presence of a school staff member. This may include but is not limited to: 1. pre-student teachers 2. field trip chaperones 3. regular volunteers 4. extra curricular group leaders 5. anyone handling cash or district funds.
