Next Meeting
Please join us in the MPR on Thursday, March 7 at 9:00 am for our next PTA meeting. Mark your calendars for upcoming meetings by checking out the meeting schedule. PTA Board Members Needed Please consider becoming a PTA Board Member for the 2019-2020 school year. We have openings for PTA Treasurer (2 year term), 2 vice presidents (1 year term) and secretary (1 year term). Please contact Laura at [email protected] with inquiries. You can inquire without volunteering for a position! Morning Loop and Parking Lot Safety All loop traffic must exit on 8 Mile road, turning right. Driving past the cones to exit on Center Street congests the parking area for those who walk their students to the front door and is dangerous for parents and students on foot. Parents who do not walk their students to the door should use the loop for drop off. Entering the parking area, dropping off, and backing out into loop traffic to exit on 8 Mile is also dangerous for all of the pedestrians. Once in the parking area (SE corner of school property, at corner of Center St and 8 Mile Rd), wait for the gates to open in order to leave safely. The Yearbook Committee Needs Your Help It takes many, MANY photos to produce a yearbook, but only a few have been submitted so far. Please see the flyer for information on how you can submit photos to help make the yearbook a great representation of Amerman! Volunteers Needed
Please contact one of the vice presidents, Christina at [email protected] or Kate at [email protected] if you would like to volunteer or find out more. Invest In Your Child It’s not too late to contribute to Invest in your Child for for 2018-2019! Help us provide assemblies, after-school programs, teacher stipends and more to benefit all Amerman students! All families who have contributed for the year will be entered in a drawing for Ice Cream Social wrist bands. Make your contribution today! Advertising Spots Available Promote your business on Memberhub while supporting PTA programs. Advertising spots are still available. Contact Tanya [email protected] for more information. |
Staff SpotlightIf you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would really like to learn sign language. I am thinking about taking some classes. What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity? I love to go camping or backpacking. Especially in the U.P. I also love playing board games! Ten years ago, who did you think you would be now? I thought I would be an elementary teacher. :) What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this? I would probably be a psychologist or do something with animals. What would you most like to tell your elementary school self? I was very shy in elementary school, so I would probably tell my elementary school self that it is okay to get involved and have leadership roles even when you are quiet. Take a chance. What is your favorite thing about working at Amerman? I love working with Amerman kids and staff! |

Birthday CelebrationsBirthday Cafe
Is your child's birthday coming up? Celebrate the occasion with a lunch date at school! This program is by reservation only and is completely voluntary. Families are invited to bring in a special lunch and/or treat to enjoy with their student at the birthday table in the cafeteria (aka Birthday Café) during their usual lunch period. Booking requests are preferred at least one week prior to your desired lunch date. The sooner you request, the more likely you are to get your preferred date! Thanks for your support of the Amerman PTA!! Either sign up entirely online at MemberHub, or print and fill in the form located here (one per student), detach and send in the bottom portion with a donation of cash or check payable to Amerman PTA. Visit the Birthday Café calendar at amermanpta.com/birthday-café.html to view all available and booked lunch dates. Questions? Contact Karri Somers at: [email protected] OR text 313/415-7756. |
What is the PTA? Why become a member?
The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is made up of parents and teachers who work together to enrich our children's lives. Joining and participating in events and donating your time are also great ways to make friends and get to know the people in your community. The number one reason to join the Parent Teacher Association is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school. But there are many more PTA advantages:
Ready to join? Fill out the form online at www.amermanpta.com or on our Member Hub Directory. The membership form is also available online for printing. |
iChat FormThe Northville Public School District requires that a background check via the Internet Criminal History Access Tool (iChat) with the Michigan State Police be conducted for individuals who school officials reasonably expect may have regular and continuous contact with students, or may at times be with students absent the presence of a school staff member. This may include but is not limited to: 1. pre-student teachers 2. field trip chaperones 3. regular volunteers 4. extra curricular group leaders 5. anyone handling cash or district funds.
Still need to fill out yours? It's accessible here. |
