From The Front OfficeStudent-Led Conferences
Here is the link for spring conferences. For spring conferences, the entire school will have student led conferences. The students will prepare with their teacher to share all of the learning and celebrations they have so far this year. Our focus is on student voice and ownership of learning. Each grade may look a little different depending on how the block of time is set up. Make sure you select the tab for grade level and select a block of time that works best for you. If you have any questions for your child's teacher, feel free to email them directly. More information to come from your child's teacher. Report Cards The third card marking report card will be available to view on MiStar on April 16th at midnight. |

Staff SpotlightIf you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would like to learn a second language. I'm not sure which one. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? I would buy my own house or condo. (renting now) and travel around the world. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time? I never have 30 minutes of free time, but I would probably read if I did. What is something you learned in the last week? That various situations happen for a reason. What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity? I like going to the movies and I like relaxing by the pool or lake. What chore do you absolutely hate doing? I hate cleaning bathrooms. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet? I would really like to meet Princess Diana. Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad, but it turned out to be for the best? After teaching second grade for 28 years then moving to third grade last year. I absolutely LOVE teaching third grade. At what age did you feel like an adult? I still don't feel like an adult at times. What three traits define you? I am a very honest person (sometimes too honest). I am an emotional/sensitive person, and I am very outgoing. What’s the coolest (or most important) trend you see today? Being Kind and changing our Growth Mindsets. What is on your wish list for the next 10 years at Amerman? Continue to learn new things daily, have fun with my students and to maybe retire? What would you most like to tell your elementary school self? Always be true to yourself! How do you define success? Overcoming obstacles, learning from mistakes, and never giving up on what you believe in. What is your favorite thing about working at Amerman? I love the families, the staff and most of all the students. |

Birthday CelebrationsBirthday Cafe
Is your child's birthday coming up? Celebrate the occasion with a lunch date at school! This program is by reservation only and is completely voluntary. Families are invited to bring in a special lunch and/or treat to enjoy with their student at the birthday table in the cafeteria (aka Birthday Café) during their usual lunch period. Booking requests are preferred at least one week prior to your desired lunch date. The sooner you request, the more likely you are to get your preferred date! Thanks for your support of the Amerman PTA!! Either sign up entirely online at MemberHub, or print and fill in the form located here (one per student), detach and send in the bottom portion with a donation of cash or check payable to Amerman PTA. Visit the Birthday Café calendar at amermanpta.com/birthday-café.html to view all available and booked lunch dates. Questions? Contact Karri Somers at: [email protected] OR text 313/415-7756. |
What is the PTA? Why become a member?
The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is made up of parents and teachers who work together to enrich our children's lives. Joining and participating in events and donating your time are also great ways to make friends and get to know the people in your community. The number one reason to join the Parent Teacher Association is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school. But there are many more PTA advantages:
Ready to join? Fill out the form online at www.amermanpta.com or on our Member Hub Directory. The membership form is also available online for printing. |
iChat FormThe Northville Public School District requires that a background check via the Internet Criminal History Access Tool (iChat) with the Michigan State Police be conducted for individuals who school officials reasonably expect may have regular and continuous contact with students, or may at times be with students absent the presence of a school staff member. This may include but is not limited to: 1. pre-student teachers 2. field trip chaperones 3. regular volunteers 4. extra curricular group leaders 5. anyone handling cash or district funds.
Still need to fill out yours? It's accessible here. |
